Chaumak

Meet Chaumak, a stunning collection of handwoven saris from the heart of Kutch, Gujarat. Inspired by the Chaumak motif—a design that resembles a radiant four-sided lamp—these saris are crafted with meticulous care using the extra weft technique, an age-old method where artisans skillfully hand-insert additional threads.

The Chaumak sari draws inspiration from the 'Kacchi dabda,' a famous shawl woven by the Meghwal community, traditionally exchanged in barter and now known as Bhujodi shawls. Creating these saris demands remarkable precision, as extra threads are woven in to bring the Chaumak pattern to life. The motif, with its blend of geometry and symbolism, evokes warmth and cultural significance, telling a story of tradition, heritage, and the timeless craftsmanship of Kutch.
